NEC PLUS ULTRA : The new GT2 RS


You know the feeling when you recently received your brand new GT3 RS. The one you had to wait for more than a year, the one you for which you had to put an upfront deposit 2 or 3 years ago. So... proud as a peacock you take it to the Nürburgring, to show everyone your latest pride and joy and of course to let it loose for a couple of rounds. It's a street-legal track car s after all… Little did you know that when arriving at the parking lot there were another dozen GT3 RSs who had the same idea! So you finish your frightening lap, go home and tell your wife and kids what a wonderful day you’ve had. But it stings.

No need to feel bad anymore because there is a new daddy in town! And it's none other than the all-new GT2 RS! The infamous widowmaker. It’s here to solve all your problems and let us tell you why.




First off, let’s start with the technical specs. Power comes from a 3.8 liter twin-turbo flat six producing 700HP and 750Nm of torque. This results in a 0 – 100km/h time of just 2.8 seconds and a more impressive 0 – 300km/h of 22.1 seconds. All this power is transmitted to the rear wheels only and to keep you safe (theoretically) the GT2 RS is only available with the PDK transmission. You will have the most powerful 911 ever to leave the factory!




As with every RS model, weight is a key factor and this time again, Porsche has gone the extra mile to get the weight further down. Due to the excessive use of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) and lightweight glass for the rear and rear side windows the Porsche GT2 RS tips the scale at 1470kg. Better skip that Big Mac on the way to the Nordschleife or you'll start feeling guilty!




An extra 30 kilograms can be saved by opting for the hardcore Weissach Package. The package consists of lightweight magnesium rims, a titanium roll cage and carbon stabilisers on the front and rear fenders. Needless to say this is a no-miss when speccing your GT2 RS!





Aesthetically this may not be the prettiest 911 out there, being fitted with all those crazy (yet functional) aero gimmicks. But we could argue that your 991 GT3 RS, which will be listed in the classifieds by now, could look tame next to the GT2 RS. Because this GT2 RS is effectively the most hardcore and powerful Porsche 911 up to date, inside and out! It looks more menacing than any 911 we've seen before, and will eat Ferraris and Lambos for breakfast.

So perhaps it's time to sell your 991 GT3 RS, get the new 991 GT2 RS (incl. Weissach Package) and become the new King of the Ring!
